I love to paint trees – always have. I guess I just love trees, period. Birches were actually my first painting as that was easy at the time and didn’t require many colours. One of these paintings is on a wood panel which makes it smooth and it kind of works with the light that almost drops off the picture.

The Divi Divi tree was a house warming present for friends in Aruba. Those trees grow along the beach, and they are small, gnarly and very picturesque.

The palm tree we saw on a hike in Costa Rica and I sent it to our guide as she was so wonderful. The colourful abstract painting is in Germany. I guess my trees are all over the planet!
