Edinburgh New Town and Dean Village

This picture story was submitted by Helen Mason of Caledon

In my mind no visit to Scotland is ever complete without a visit to the capital city of Edinburgh. Depending on the time of day or the weather, the castle can look majestic or gloomy!

Dean Village is located in Edinburgh New Town which was constructed in the late 1700’s and 1800’s.

It is nestled on the banks of the Water of Leith, just five minutes from Princes Street. Once a milling settlement it is now a lovely tranquil oasis.

In the spring, of course everything is lush and colourful amongst the old architecture.
